In 2017 I have setup first Cebu chatbot developer meetup and group. That time there there was little going on the the ‘generative AI’ except for Google’s deepmind experiments. After pivotal release of ChatGPT 3 in 2022, raise of NVIDIA on the stock market and 2024 nobel prize for DeepMind, momentum is with the generative models and so should be the focus of the creative folk in one of the most dynamic content markets in the world: Phillippines. Our group hopes to share the effects of work and practices from accross various industries from text editors in law companeis, spreadsheet admins to creative generation.

NATION STATE, GOVERNMENT, POLITICS
Philippines government is rather slow and behind the adaption curve, but even there AI also posses threat to truth and poltical order, simialr to ‘fake news spread via social media’ during 2016 elections around the world ( Uk brexit, US presidentail and Philippines preseidential to name few).
Given the political realities in the Philippines, any bespoke solution to counter well-entrenched disinformation operations will not resolve all vulnerabilities in the existing information ecosystem. But with the collapse of the country’s ruling political coalition potentially leading to the most contentious midterm vote in over 25 years, coupled with the rise of AI and the eagerness of political operatives to leverage its capabilities, mechanisms must still be instituted.
