More context
Burgess Park is a large public park in Southwark, south London, near Elephant and Castle, an area that has seen major regeneration and new housing in recent years. The captures in this post, published on Polycam, show the park itself (a 2024 Gaussian splat), the Park View residences by Notting Hill Genesis while under construction, and Elephant and Castle in the evening.
Repeated 3D captures of the same place are a simple way to document construction progress and urban change over time. Gaussian splats suit this well, because they can be made from drone or phone footage and viewed in a web browser. Budots Media offers similar 3D mapping and digital twin work in the UK and the Philippines; see the related posts and the Projects page.
